I was having a phone conversation with my oldest child. She is actually my niece but I treat and love her as my own. She was telling me about the struggle she is having trying to purchase a car of her own and works graveyard shift at a gas station to make ends meet. I told her, let’s pray about it. If we both pray, miracles happen. I hung up the phone and briefly thought in my mind, God, I wish I could give her at least $100. Thought nothing more about it and went to bed. As my niece’s night went on, two young ladies entered the gas station in the middle of the night. They’ve appeared to have been drinking and were very rude to my princess. As they left, a man approached my princess and said, people in this world are not usually as mean as those two, and handed her a $100 dollar bill. My niece was speechless, shocked and filled with emotions. She said thank you and continue with her night. The next day, she immediately texted me and wrote what had happened. Then I told her my prayer and told her, you see? God moves the hearts of his people in order to answer prayers. Amen.
Many years ago, I met a man as a casual acquaintance through a friend of mine. A few months later I saw him at a local bar and we ended up sitting and talking over some beers. He told me he was going through a divorce and was feeling really down. I don’t know how we got on the subject, maybe I had said I would pray for him, but somewhere in the conversation he told me he did not believe in God or any spiritual beings who look out for us in life. I felt an intense wave of grief wash over me from the emotions he was projecting. I asked him why he felt this way. He seemed reluctant to share, but eventually told me that as a young boy, his mother had left him and his younger brother at an orphanage in a city in South America where he originated from. He and his brother stayed there many years before she returned to get them. This experience hardened him in what seemed to be a permanent way. He never felt he could trust anyone after that, much less the God he had prayed to so sincerely as a child, to no avail. My heart was wounded over his story and I felt compelled to tell him of some of my own experiences with the spiritual world. I shared many stories with him about times when I felt my guardian angels or God was sending me messages of hope and encouragement through random strangers or other sources. At one point in the conversation, I mentioned that recently I rented a movie that had caught my eye and that the message in the movie seemed to be speaking directly to me. “How do you explain that without thinking it’s some form of divine intervention?” I could tell by his expression and body language that I had hit a chord, but wasn’t able to talk about it because I was late for something and had to end our conversation. Several years later, I got a random e-mail message from him on my work e-mail. He was letting me know he was in town for one evening and asked if he could take me to dinner. I had to think for a minute to remember who he was, but when I did, I agreed to meet him at a designated restaurant. It was a little awkward at first but after a few minutes, he got right to the point. He told me he just wanted to thank me for what I had done for him years before when we had conversed at the bar. He told me at the time, he was severely depressed and was completely shocked at what had happened. You see, when I had mentioned getting messages from the spirits through random events, like a message in a movie, he had just experienced something like that. He had rented a movie by sheer coincidence that was very similar to what he was going through in his divorce, and that had a very uplifting message that had comforted him. He had not thought about it being a message to him through his angels until our conversation. Since that time, he had felt a renewed faith and hope come back into his life and had begun to notice little synchronicities happening in his experiences that brought him a feeling that he was not alone. The way he looked at me with such gratitude was really humbling. I told him that I felt God had crossed our paths that night at the bar and had guided our conversation so that those truths could be revealed to him. I felt in some way, God had used me to help heal the heart of a little boy, crying for his mother in an orphanage far from home. We both had goosebumps.
